Gustafsberg is full of life and activity in summer. People enjoy coffee at Snäckan, visit the Spa Restaurant, sunbathe and swim, or simply relax with an ice cream on a park bench. History is present everywhere, and this is where you will find the most charming old houses from the heyday of seaside resort life.
People from Uddevalla come to Gustafsberg to enjoy the sea, the views and the beautifully maintained seaside park.
Visitor numbers have increased since the waterfront promenade opened in 2006, making Gustafsberg much easier to reach. A walk of just over half an hour from the town centre brings you here. The promenade received the Beautiful Roads Award in 2009.
In this scenic setting, we offer simple, affordable accommodation in five hotel and hostel buildings. The largest hostel, Varmbadhuset, stands beside the water, where you can fall asleep to the sound of waves outside your window.
Many guests who discover Gustafsberg wish they could stay a little longer. Within easy reach are outdoor swimming pools, archipelago boats, an activity centre, the regional museum and one of Sweden’s largest shopping centres.
Gustafsberg’s Seaside Hotel and Hostel is also an ideal base for day trips. Within an hour, you can reach Liseberg, Nordens Ark or enjoy more of the west coast in Smögen, Lysekil or Grundsund.
There is plenty happening at Gustafsberg in summer. Traditional Midsummer and Swedish National Day celebrations are held here, and the annual Gustafsberg Days feature guided tours and fascinating stories recalling the resort’s golden age.
