New initiatives approved for Gustafsberg through a Leader project

Gustafsberg – Stories of Gustafsberg

19 December 2019
Unique and beautiful Gustafsberg has been a place of recreation for more than two hundred years.
It has many stories to tell. These will now be made available to the public by restoring old paths and adding new sections, once again allowing visitors to take invigorating walks in accordance with the prescription of Dr Marin, the resort’s first spa physician in 1810.
Sweden’s first boarding school was founded here at the end of the 18th century. The schoolboys played in a cave that will be made accessible so that families today can enjoy adventures of their own.
More fascinating stories will be brought to life through signs and information.
The initiative is part of the development of the Gustafsberg area. Its aim is to help more people discover the site, strengthen the connection between sea and land, and create favourable conditions for local businesses.

The project has been made possible with support from Leader Sodra Bohuslan. It is an extension of an ongoing project and has been awarded SEK 460,000 for the new activities.
Gustafsberg is managed by the Gustafsberg Foundation, while the project is run by Destination Uddevalla.
